Why most Valorant pros play native

Valorant was built natively for 16:9 from day one. Its UI, ability icons, and minimap all work best at native widescreen aspect. Unlike CS — where 4:3 stretched is a long-running tradition — Valorant has no historical reason to favour 4:3, so the modern scene almost universally plays at 1920×1080 native.

What about CS converts playing 4:3?

A small number of ex-CS pros (and players who built muscle memory there) stuck with 1280×960 stretched when they moved to Valorant. The slight model-width advantage is the same as in CS, but the FOV cost is the same too. Less common in Valorant than in CS.

What should you play at?

Native 1080p is the right answer for ~everyone in Valorant. UI scales well, framerate is comfortable on mid-tier hardware, and there's no muscle-memory penalty.
Don't bother with 1440p unless you have a 1440p+ monitor. Valorant's art style doesn't need more pixels to look good.
